It IS possible to obtain very large discounts on office furniture by buying re-manufactured items.
Re-manufacturered furniture is usually stations that are bought in bulk originally for large jobs, such as a call center.  The stations are then usually sold off when they are no longer needed in bulk also.  Like anything else, bulk equates to savings.

At Signature Office Interiors in Abbotsford BC, we offer pre-owned re-manufactured Teknion product in the form of their T/O/S panel system.  This product in not remanufactured by an outside source.  Teknion now has their own plant where they re-skin the panels with new fabric and repaint all components that need it.  Any parts not available through this program can be ordered at the same time but will be produced brand new.  This way, there are no excuses about components not being available.

We order two workstations for our office which we are going to actually use ourselves.  Bringing customers into our showroom, I can challenge them to pick out the re-manufactured setup and they will have a very difficult time selecting.  The stations look like new!

We provided 5 different task chairs which were used in a classic musical chairs scenario to narrow down from 6 contestants to the final winner.

It was exciting and the fans cheered more loudly with each progressive round.  The last round proved to be a climatic ending with a fantastic slow-motion reply of the winner grabbing the arm of the chair and twisting it away from the other contestant.  Great on-ice action in Abbotsford!

There is no more personal choice for furniture within your office than the chair you will use.  Selecting just the right one can be daunting with the innumerable options out there.

I’d like to help you in this post with the mechanism selection.  The mechanism is the metal part underneath the seat where all the adjustment handles come out of.  The mechanism you select will determine what adjustments you will have available to you as well as the type of tilt or recline.

Non traditional office storage options – think outside the box, literally

The traditional units that were the standards years ago are being augmented by new creative combination cabinets.

Take this combination cabinet picture here.  It combines a traditional box/box/file pedestal with a mini bookcase and even a wardrobe closet.  All of this fits into a ridiculously small footprint, using up a minimum of square footage in your office.  The space issue becomes truly important when you plan out a large number of workstations within one area.

Besides the shape, size and configuration of today’s storage and filing units are the vast number of colours available.  Rather than the old putty, black and grey, manufacturers, such as Artopex, now are offering fun colours and choices that can run up over 20 options, including metallic and textured paints.  Think “Tangerine” and “Grenadine” and “Espresso”; what a great way to express YOUR style!
