Artopex Takeoff System

Easily cleaned & damage resistant laminate casegoods.

If you are looking for new office furniture, Artopex has the breadth of styles, finishes and options to put a smile on your face and still leave a balance in your bank account.

I have used Artopex for many years when sourcing furniture for my clients and I’ve found Artopex to be the essence of the “value” purchase.  By this I refer to the balance between cost and quality.

Each system they have (and there are many) has the flexibility to outfit every area and need of your office and still coordinate nicely.

Air System Recycling Ped

Below-worksurface Recycling Pedestal

In keeping with environmental trends, Artopex has brought out a new “Recycling Pedestal” as part of the brand new AIR system.

Pictured at right, you’ll see the recycling ped with the Kiwi Green drawer front.  There is a catch-bin inside and an open slot just above the drawer.  How you use this is pretty obvious but also incredibly handy.

As a side note, this picture also shows the AIR system’s new 2″ thick top surface which is made with a recycled cardboard “honeycomb” center.

I love the innovations Artopex comes up with in all their office furniture lines.

If you are in the lower mainland or Fraser Valley of BC, contact us at Signature Office Interiors.   We can help you layout your office with any of the Artopex lines.

Creating the best comfort in an office chair.

Posted under Product Highlight by The Office Pro on Tuesday 26 January 2010 at 12:54 PM

Comfort and price are the two most critical factors most people consider when choosing an office chair.  Most manufacturers have chairs spanning a wide range of prices to fit most budgets, for let’s focus on comfort for the moment.

If you were to sit on a concrete step for an extended period, you’d be searching within a few minutes for something to add in between the concrete and your own built-in “cushion” to provide further padding.  Sure it helps, but still, you are sitting on a solid surface with exactly zero “give”.

Art Design International (ADI) of Quebec Canada has found a solution to this issue with a unique suspension system.  They built their chairs on a tubular steel frame without ANY solid matter (metal or wood) in the seat or the back where your body is supported.

They accomplish this by using a tight webbing material across the frame and adding the high-density foam to it.  The result is a substrate with more give and less pressure on your tailbone.

ADI has many other notable features including:

You can download the ADI Comfort Zone brochure which will show you all these features in greater detail.

ADI chairs are available in BC through Signature Office Interiors.

The AIR system by Artopex

Low, Open, Lots of light and improved function.

Artopex has never disappointed me when introducing new product lines, and the AIR system is no different.

Focusing on the latest trends towards LEED credibility, the new styling is a further departure from what most conjure up in their minds when you say “office furniture”.  Summed up, AIR is “an open air modular desking system where each component serves multiple functions”.

If you are looking for the most durable office furniture available to stand up to the rigors of your workplace, than Latitude by Inline Systems is for you.

Steel reinforced office furniture. Like no other.

Most units like the one pictured above would break apart at the seams if you lifted it off the ground unsupported like this.  But not Latitude.  Latitude is used in places like aircraft carriers, where the furniture must stand up to constant motion and potential stress.

Notice the raised modesty panel which gives clear access to outlets.

Canadian Federal agencies will find InLine Systems in the NMSO for Office Furniture.

Architectural Walls – Furniture Versus Drywall

Posted under Product Highlight by The Office Pro on Tuesday 15 December 2009 at 4:46 PM

Are you aware that by purchasing Architectural walls, you can install your entire structure of walls within days, instead of the weeks it would take with drywall and conventional construction?  Architectural walls still allow you to run all your electrical, data and phone wiring also.  No one likes the mess and noise of conventional construction.  Architecural walls, such as Altos from Teknion, is a perfect alternative.

Architectural Walls at their best

Architectural Walls at their best

Altos’ unique universal framework allows changes in elevation, dimension, Fascia function and finish to maximize the life of the product.

Here is a flash demo of  the Altos architecural walls by Teknion.

Altos provides a perfect balance of form and function:

· Understated Design – clean, crisp European aesthetic.

· Functionality – fully relocatable, modular wall system.

· Integration – interfaces with building architecture and integrates with furniture products.

· Sustainability – reusable parts promote environmental responsibility.

· Acoustics/Performance – ability to block sound transmission surpasses drywall.

· Return on Investment – easily reconfigured components translate to low cost of ownership.

· Technology – clear wall cavity accepts four types of electrics, both hard-wired and quick-disconnect systems; as well as standard off-the-shelf UL/CSA approved boxes.

Refurbish your lateral file cabinets and revitalize your office

Posted under Product Highlight by The Office Pro on Monday 14 December 2009 at 11:19 AM

Bare metal filing cabinets, especially the standard black, grey and putty ones, are so drab that they detract from the aesthetics of your office.  Why not make them part of the decor and revitalize your entire office?  You can put life back into your file cabinets by adding new magnetic facings to them.

Facements offers many options of many in fabrics, laminates, veneers, white board surfaces and tack-able surfaces which will improve both the look and the functionality of all your filing.

As you can see, there is a HUGE difference in the look and the feel of this lateral file.

The after image clearly shows the warmth and texture added over the old cold steel look.

Interior Designers love Facements for obvious reasons.

What a great way to finish off the backs of file cabinets that have visible backs.  Now a non-sterile looking hallway can be created with this incredibly simply applied product.  Guests and clients will be impressed and staff will be happier in their “new” surroundings.
